Journal Starter for Psalm 4

In Psalm 4, David is honest about his distress— his suffering, pain, hardship, and unrest.
Write/tell God about what is going on in your life and heart right now. You can be completely honest with Him. What questions do you have for God?

What pain are you experiencing right now as the result of other people’s actions?
In the first verse, David says to God, “Hear my prayer.” Later, he says with confidence, “The LORD hears when I call to him.”
What difference does it make that God hears you when you pray to Him?
David goes on to express his confidence that:
1)      God is worthy of worship and is trustworthy (verse 5).
2)      God is the One who brings light and joy (verses 6-7).
3)      God is the One who gives peace, safety, and sleep (verse 8).
What has been keeping you up at night or worrying you during the day?

Is there a part of this Psalm that encourages you or that you want to remember when you are going through a hard time?
