Psalm 46 Journal Starter

Hi friends! Thank you so much for joining us here.

We hope to provide you with some questions to spark reflection on the Psalms.

If you want to, you can share some of your thoughts in the comments section below. We would love to hear how God is working in your heart.

You can listen to Psalm 46 here. You can find Psalm 46 in the New International Version here.

Journal Starter for Psalm 46

The Psalmist writes that God is our refuge, strength, ever-present help, and fortress.
Does one of these descriptions stand out to you? Are there any that are hard to believe? Write about how you have experienced God as your strength or safe place.

What difference does it make that God is our ever-present help?
The Sons of Korah write, "He lifts his voice, the earth melts." That is how powerful God is! The passage makes it clear that God is greater and stronger than any nation of the earth.
How does knowing God is all-powerful influence the way you think about what is going on in the world?

Write to God about what is breaking your heart in the world right now.

When is it hard to believe that God is more powerful than any nation?

Write about what makes you afraid. Imagine Jesus standing by your side as you face what you fear.
God says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Reflect with God on times you have been "still" with Him or what it might look like for you to be still with Him. How might God be inviting you to put your confidence in Him?

Imagine God being worshiped and honoured all around the world. Tell God how imagining this makes you feel and what you think about His worthiness.
